Master’s Thesis

Abstract

People need to feel safe while using services. However, there is a gap when it comes to comprehensive solutions for personal security while using rideshares. Current solutions have usability issues and problems with trust, while others are dependent on a personal network that may not be well-practiced in handling security needs. These different options have the potential to create a confusing experience, with different interfaces, networks, and results. None of the solutions in the market take in the specific needs of rideshare consumers into account. This thesis will propose a network and system designed to increase trust and transparency, while helping consumers feel more secure while using rideshares.
